VR Animation Lead

As an Animation Lead, you’ll manage and guide a team of artists, rigger, and animators on unique and groundbreaking VR LBE project in an innovative and fast paced environment. The ideal candidate has experience animating both human and non-humanoid characters. A solid grasp of the principles of body movement, anticipation, overshoot, follow-through, squash and stretch, forward and inverse kinematics, and other facets of both 2D and 3D animation is essential.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Animate and lead a team
  • Plan schedules, commit to deliverables and manage animation team to achieve goals within regular milestones and deadlines.
  • Ensure an open communication between animation team and rest of project team.
  • Create and continually adjust processes for animation production
  • Stay current on industry trends in animation, rigging, modeling, texturing.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years experience in animation.
  • 2+ years as a Lead or Senior
  • A strong understanding of the fundamentals of traditional animation.
  • Proficiency in Maya.
  • Can work in a range of animation art styles
  • Must have an understanding of all areas of 3D creation (mesh, texturing, skinning, IK).
  • Must be able to document animation process and track tasks throughout development cycle.
  • Good communication skills and ability to manage stressful situations
  • Ability to work with strict deadlines and manage workload
  • Must have a positive attitude and be a team player
  • The ability to use a Virtual Reality headset and hand controllers

 

Desired:

  • Knowledge of MEL or Python scripting a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of cinematography a plus
  • Experience creating animation in a VR context strongly desired
  • Language: Mandarin a plus


 

Must be able to work in the US.
